New Supe Might Be From Los Gatos-Saratoga Union
It's not official yet, but Superintendent Cary Matsuoka may be headed to Milpitas Unified this July.

The Milpitas Unified Board of Education is expected to announce the name of the new superintendent at a special meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m.
However, the Los Gatos Weekly-Times and Saratoga News reported on Monday that Superintendent Cary Matsuoka plans to leave the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, possibly to come to Milpitas Unified.
Matsuoka's is comprised of two comprehensive high schools, Los Gatos and Saratoga, and an alternative high school program, Nova. About 3,100 students were enrolled at the two comprehensive high schools in the 2009-2010 school year.

Milpitas Unified serves nearly 10,000 students in nine elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and one continuation high school. The district also includes preschool and adult school.
After Superintendent Karl Black officially submitted his retirement earlier this year, the school board to help with recruiting candidates. The final interviews were conducted May 22 and 23. The projected start date of the new superintendent is July 1.
