Pedestrian Hit By Car In Santa Clara

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A pedestrian was transported to a hospital this morning after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision near U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Clara, according to police.

The crash was reported in the vicinity of Duane Avenue between Kenneth Street and Alfred Street, sometime prior to 10:10 a.m. Police Capt. Wahid Kazem said specific details on the victim's injuries were not immediately available.

Police are asking that drivers avoid the area while they investigate the crash and suggested the public use Space Park Drive as a detour around Duane Avenue.
