Photos: Milpitas Rotary Club's Pumpkin Patch a Hit

The Milpitas Rotary Club Pumpkin Patch opened for business on Saturday, and is already a huge hit with local families.

The front gate of the seventh annual Milpitas Rotary Club Pumpkin Patch creaked open at 11 a.m. Saturday, kicking off two weeks of Halloween horror and fun for local families and children.

Conveniently located on E. Calaveras Boulevard near N. Park Victoria Drive in the parking lot of the school district and sports center, the patch is far from just a place to pick out a great pumpkin. The patch also features a giant slide, jump houses, a scary haunted maze, and snacks for all. It's also a great place to snap a family photo - especially if you come in costume!

Local schools have already been venturing out to the pumpkin patch for field trips, to experience the Halloween fun.

In addition to Rotary Club members, nearly 20 Milpitas High School Rotary Interact Club members are volunteering to help run the pumpkin patch. Rotary Club Chairman Mark Tiernan said, a percentage of the patch's proceeds will be granted to local Milpitas schools.

The patch opened Saturday, and will be open daily through Saturday, Oct. 29. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends and 5-8 p.m. on weekdays.
