Police Seeking Hit-and-Run Driver Who Struck Bicyclist

It happened at Golfland on Jacklin Road.

A female motorist suspected of striking and badly injuring a bicyclist and crashing into a building at a miniature golf course Sunday in Milpitas remains at large, police said today.

Officers responded at 4:36 p.m. Sunday to a suspected hit-and-run collision involving a red, four-door 2012 Nissan Sentra and a bike rider on Jacklin Road near Interstate Highway 680, according to police.

The bicyclist, a 30-year-old Milpitas man found lying on the ground, was transported to a hospital. His injuries were major but not considered life-threatening, police said.

Officers located the heavily damaged Nissan at the scene, where it had crashed into a building outside the Golfland miniature golf park at 1199 Jacklin Road and was abandoned by the driver, according to police.

The driver was described as a woman in her 30s who had fled after the car struck the bicyclist and building, police said.
