Remembering 9/11: Saba Sohail

Only ten-years-old at the time, she said 9/11 made her more vocal about her beliefs. One example, choosing to wear a headscarf when she came of age.

Saba Sohail spent her childhood raised in the U.S. like many Muslim-Americans. But growing up after 9/11 made her more aware of how important her faith is to her.

"I was more vocal about my beliefs, about Islam in general," she said.

Wearing a headscarf was not a requirement in her family, but a choice, said Sohail, 20. When she came of age, she began to show her faith through her appearance.

Earlier this month, she was wearing a bright yellow and floral one as she donated blood at the  in Milpitas. It was part of a Muslims for Life  honoring the victims of 9/11.
