San Jose Airport Reaches Million Passenger Milestone In May
The one-month tally hasn't been reached in more than a decade.

SAN JOSE, CA — More than 1 million travelers flew out of Mineta San Jose International Airport in May, a milestone the airport hasn't reached in a decade, airport officials said.
Last month, 1,060,412 travelers chose San Jose's international airport, up 17 percent from 906,070 a year ago.
Airport officials said the growth is expected to continue through the end of the year based on the airport's published flight schedules.
Since May 2016, airlines serving San Jose have added many new nonstop domestic and international flights and some have increased the frequency at which they fly out of San Jose.

Delta Airlines added a third daily flight to Atlanta at the end of last month.
British Airways started flying daily to London's Heathrow Airport and Alaska Airlines and United Airlines started flying daily to Newark, New Jersey.
