Students at Merryhill Preschool in Milpitas Collect Donations to Send to Children in Need Throughout the World

Pre-kindergarten students assembled donated gifts and wrote letters to children in need around the world

MILPITAS, Calif. (Dec. 12, 2016) – Pre-kindergarten students at Merryhill Preschool on Corning Avenue in Milpitas recently packed and prepared 100 gift packages of toys, art supplies, books, school supplies and more to send to children around the world. The supplies and gifts were collected as part of a school-wide gift drive to benefit Operation Christmas Child, an international humanitarian organization that sends care packages to children in third world countries. The packages contain handwritten letters from the students and will be sent to children in countries, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Ukraine, Aruba and Myanmar. In the classroom, students have been exploring different cultures, traditions and customs of families across the globe. Through this experience, they will learn the importance of helping children in need during the holiday season.
