Students at Merryhill Preschool in Milpitas Participated in Water Conservation Project on Earth Day

As a result of the severe drought throughout California, preschoolers distributed plastic bottles with sand to place in toilet tanks to help

Milpitas, Calif. (April 30, 2015) – In celebration of Earth Day, students from Merryhill Preschool in Milpitas filled plastic bottles with sand from their playground to put in toilet tanks as part of their water conservation project. Students have been learning about the severe drought throughout California and found out that flushing toilets wastes an extraordinary amount of water. To help conserve water, students distributed the bottles to the community to place in their toilet tanks, which can help save 10 or more gallons of water a day. Through this experience, students learned the importance of helping the community.
