Students at Merryhill Preschool Plant Trees for Earth Day

Students recognized Earth Day by using a grafting technique to plant trees that produce a variety of fruits

Students at Merryhill Preschool in Milpitas recently celebrated Earth Day by planting trees using a grafting technique, which allows one plant to produce a variety of fruits. Students grafted plum, peach and cherry trees and learned how the technique helps conserve water, as fewer trees are needed to produce the different types of fruit. Throughout the spring, students will continue to care for the trees and watch them grow. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
