Suspect, 21, Arrested For Milpitas Home Break-In and Auto Theft

The incident occurred in June, and the man stole the residents' car after burglarizing the house, police said.

A 21-year-old San Jose man has been arrested in a June burglary and car theft at a single-family home near Interstate Highway 680 in Milpitas, police said today.

Milpitas police detectives, assisted by personnel from the San Jose Police Department and the Santa Clara County Regional Auto Theft Task Force, took David Ulysses Frutis Jr. into custody at his San Jose home on Oct. 20, Lt. Henry Kwong said.

Frutis was arrested on suspicion of a residential burglary and auto theft on June 22 at a home on Tramway Drive near Escuela Parkway, according to Kwong.

The car was taken during the home burglary and later found in San Jose.

Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and eventually identified Frutis as the suspect.
