Two Fremont Men Arrested, Stolen Car Recovered

The men were arrested in Milpitas in possession of stolen mail, credit cards and a car - all swiped in Fremont, police say.

MILPITAS, CA —Two Fremont men were arrested last week in Milpitas after they were allegedly found with a stolen vehicle, police said Tuesday.

According to Milpitas police, at 6:17 a.m. on April 18, an officer was conducting patrol checks in the parking lot of Wal-Mart when he saw a man standing next to a stolen white Dodge Stratus that was parked in the lot.
The car had been reported stolen to the Fremont Police Department the day before.

Milpitas police arrested the man next to the car, identified as 21-year-old Auner Gomez of Fremont.
They also determined that a second suspect, 31-year-old Oscar Molina of Fremont, was inside the Wal-Mart. Police arrested Molina when he exited the store and found him in possession of a small amount of
methamphetamine.

According to police, both suspects had credit cards that were recently stolen from a car parked in Fremont and Gomez allegedly made a purchase earlier at the Wal-Mart with one of them.

Gomez also allegedly had a shaved key, which is used to burglarize and steal cars, police said.

Police searched the stolen car and recovered mail stolen from Fremont, as well as modified keys used to open locked mailboxes, police said.

Gomez and Molina were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of numerous offenses, including auto theft and possessing a stolen vehicle.
