$10K Worth Of Merch Recovered, 2 Arrests Made In Mission Viejo Tuesday

The theft happened Tuesday evening at the Shops at Mission Viejo, authorities said.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Two people were arrested Tuesday night in Mission Viejo on suspicion of stealing $10,000 worth of clothing from The Shops at Mission Viejo, authorities said.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the two unidentified suspects were arrested for burglary, grand theft and conspiracy. Sheriff's deputies recovered "several large bags full of stolen clothing from Macy's, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle and Express."

The arrest was made after an OCSD Investigator was conducting follow-up at the Shops at Mission Viejo Tuesday evening. The investigator received word that several officers were running after suspects who stole a "large amount of merchandise" while investigating, authorities said.

The suspects then left the mall in a vehicle, though they were ultimately detained after sheriff's deputies stopped the car at a traffic stop, OCSD said.
