11-year-old Mountain Climber Tyler Armstrong Hosts EVEREST Screening for Boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Proceeds support Climb to Cure Duchenne

For 11-year-old mountaineer Tyler Armstrong conquering Mt. Everest is more than a personal goal, it’s a way for him to help those who can’t climb – the more than 300,000 boys around the world who battle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. On October 4th at 3pm, Tyler will be hosting a special screening of the new movie EVEREST at the AMC 14 at The District in Tustin, followed by a reception with all proceeds from the event going to his Climb to Cure Duchenne campaign.

Tyler is planning to complete the world’s highest summits – he’s already reached the peak of three, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Elbrus – to help raise awareness and find a cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Duchenne is an inherited deadly disease that causes muscle deterioration, leaving boys in a wheelchair by their mid teens and claiming their lives by the mid-20s.

For Tyler, knowing these boys can’t climb gives him the drive to accomplish his goals of climbing giants and working to improve the lives of Duchenne boys everywhere.

Everest for those with Duchenne. He found the movie riveting and now he wants to share his experience with his guests at this private screening in Tustin.

“Tyler is paving a trail of hope for thousands of our Duchenne boys worldwide,” said Debra Miller, CEO of CureDuchenne. “He is young boy with a special talent and drive, and the entire Duchenne community thanks him from the bottom of our hearts.
