26th WALK Against Drugs" and 7th Annual Emergency Preparedness Expo - Margot Ferron
Join Mission Viejo in the Fight Against Drugs.

On Sat., Oct. 18, 2014 at 8 am the 26th Annual Walk Against Drugs” will commence at Mission Viejo High School, 25025 Chrisanta Dr, Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Join the Sheriff’s Department, schools, businesses, students and families in saying “no” to drugs, alcohol and tobacco use.
Motivational speaker, Jake Olson, 17-year-old, blind cancer survivor, football player and golfer will kick off the rally. Olson maintains a 4.0 GPA and wants to become the first blind PGA golfer.
After “Eyes Wide Open and Drug Free” at the high school, the crowd of more than 3,000 in red t-shirts will form a red ribbon as they trek two miles down La Paz Road to the Oso Creek Trail and wind through to the Village Green at Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, 92691.

A Community Fair and 7th Annual Emergency Preparedness Expo- “Get Prepared, Learn How!” will follow at the Oso Park/Village Green on 24932 Veterans Way, MV 92691.
Enjoy crafts, games, inflatables and much more. Plus, there will be activities for children with special needs. Feast on free, Mission Viejo Rotary Club Hot Dogs and vote for Battle of the Banners.

Boy Scouts of America, Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee, Mission Viejo Rotary Club, Oxford Prep, Santa Margarita Water District and The Shops at Mission Viejo are just a few of the sponsors of the fair.
Along with the fair the 7th Annual Emergency Preparedness Expo, will share information about being prepared for emergencies. An earthquake simulator sponsored by the City and a lift truck provided by OC Public Works will be there.
Some of the agencies at the expo are Alert OC, American Red Cross, San Diego Gas & Electric and OCSD Emergency Management Bureau.
To sit in the stands and receive a free t-shirt you are encouraged to arrive at the high school at 7:30 am. The first 3,500 participants will receive free t-shirts.
