4 Arrested In South Orange County Target Thefts, Stolen Liquor Recovered

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Four suspects were arrested in Mission Viejo on suspicion of stealing roughly $2,658 in liquor from Target, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

Deputies were called to the Target located at 24500 Alicia Parkway in response to a theft that had just occurred Friday just after noon.

Upon arriving, authorities were told by the Target Loss Prevention team that two suspects entered the business and stole seven bottles of alcohol, totaling about $385. Authorities were also told that the suspects were seen from two previous thefts that happened earlier that same day at nearby Targets in Mission Viejo and San Clemente.

Deputies found the suspect's vehicle in the surrounding area with two more people inside of it. After conducting a traffic stop, deputies found an additional 50 bottles of alcohol valued at $2,658.

Three of the four suspects face burglary charges, and four all suspects face conspiracy, organized retail theft, false identification to a peace officer, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools charges.

According to officers, the investigation also found that two of the suspects have open cases for theft of alcohol from various stores across Orange County. One suspect also had an active no-bail Post-Release Community Supervision warrant for a robbery case in Los Angeles County.

Two suspects remain in custody, one posted bone, and the last was released on court ordered pre-trial monitored probation, authorities said. Their names and residences were not given.
