Up to $5,000 in Scholarships Available to High School Seniors

Scholarships for high school seniors who Volunteer.

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee will award up to a total of $5,000 in scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Mission Viejo. It’s not too late to apply. The deadline is Wed., January 28, 2015.

The scholarships are based on volunteerism in the community, academic achievements, leadership skills, school participation and ability to succeed.

Eligibility requirements include being a U.S. citizen and 100 hours of volunteer service; 25 hours need to have been performed in Mission Viejo.

MVAC is a nonprofit volunteer organization that plans and executes many events in the city. “Up in the Air” and the July 4th St. Faire are just a few of the events they welcome the public to attend.

Anyone within the city of Mission Viejo or the surrounding area is welcome to join MVAC. There are no dues or fees. Put your talents to work making this a better and more enjoyable community. The committee meets the second, Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.
