6 Father-Son Bonding Activities on a Budget

As parents, bonding with kids and teenagers today can be tough. With phones, tablets, video games, and so many other things, parents have a lot of competition. 1. Go See A Band You Both Like

There’s nothing like music to bring people together. When it comes to young people (especially teenagers) it can be hard to get them to take their eyes off of their cellphones long enough for them to talk to you about anything at all. But music can be such a great bridge. Find out what your son’s favorite band or music artist is and get concert tickets. Guaranteed, he won’t be able to stop talking after the show.

2. Pick a Show to Watch Every Week

Who doesn’t love TV? It’s so easy to become so invested in the lives of fictional characters. Pick a show to watch with your son, and make it your quality time each week! There are also tons of shows on Netflix and Hulu if you want to have a Father-Son binge-watching Saturday.

3. Get Under the Hood

It’s always good to teach your son a new lifeskill or two. Working on old cars is not only practical knowledge that everyone can have, it’s also a whole lot of fun. After fixing a part of the car, your son is sure to feel a great sense of accomplishment and it is great bonding time. 6. Go Camping

Roughing it in the wild has always been a traditional father-son activity. Learning how to build a tent, start a fire, and survive without wifi are all skills every father should teach their son.
