City Hosts Free America 250 Spectacular Event In Mission Viejo: What To Know

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Want your Independence Day celebration to go on just a little while longer?

The City of Mission Viejo is hosting a "once-in-a-lifetime" Mission Viejo Parade on July 11, city officials said.

The event will celebrate the history of the United States, as well as the vibrant community that is Mission Viejo, City Spokesperson Kelly Tokarski said.

The event will draw 80 participating organizations, including: the Marine Corps Marching Band and other musical groups, historical floats, classic cars, costumed dancers and more.

"People of all ages are encouraged to join our America 250 spectacular event that will celebrate our country, our city and community," Mayor Wendy Bucknum told Patch. "Everyone loves a parade, and this is one you won't want to miss."

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. in front of St. Kilian Church at 26872 Estanciero Drive and will continue along Marguerite Parkway before turning onto La Paz Road.

The parade will end at the BBQ Music Fest at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
