Smoke from the fire has been visible across south Orange County, including in Mission Viejo.
• Dan Albano's Orange County football Top 35 rankings (modbee.com) — Mission Viejo High's football team is off to a strong 2-0 start and sits third in this week's Orange County Top 35 rankings, behind Santa Margarita and Mater Dei. Several nearby schools, including Trabuco Hills, El Toro, Capistrano Valley, and Dana Hills, also appear, giving local fans a quick snapshot of how South County programs stack up early in the season.
• The Outlets at Orange Announce Multi-Million-Dollar Renovation (ocbj.com) — A major renovation is coming to The Outlets at Orange, and it follows recent reinvestment in Simon's other local centers, including The Shops at Mission Viejo. Shoppers can expect upgraded finishes, seating, landscaping, and lighting, plus new high-end outlets like Coach and Michael Kors as the multi-million-dollar project rolls out through 2027.
