MISSION VIEJO, CA — A very special event commemorating both the United States and the Mission Viejo community is taking shape for November.
Mission Viejo residents were invited to a special Nov. 6 celebration unveiling a community-crafted quilt in honor of America's 250th anniversary.
Attendees will enjoy music, light refreshments, and brief remarks recognizing the milestone.
"What began with the addition of sewing machines at the library blossomed into a wonderful community collaboration," city officials said in a statement. "Throughout the year, residents came together to learn basic sewing and quilting skills, participate in classes and create red, white and blue quilt blocks to contribute to the project."
The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the Mission Viejo Library, 100 Civic Center.
