Mission Viejo House Fire: Emergency Response Wakes Neighborhood
Orange County Fire Authority engines responded to a Mission Viejo home where the attic was fully engulfed in flames early Sunday morning.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — The wail of fire alarms and a snap of flames broke the silence of a typically quiet Mission Viejo street Sunday morning. Orange County Fire Authority arrived on the scene of the house aflame on the 25800 block of Via Del Sur around 4 a.m.
Thirty-three firefighters battled the well-established attic fire, the OCFA department spokesperson said. "Crews attempted to knock down the main fire, but had difficulty accessing the second floor due to stair compromise."
It took two hours to knock down the house fire entirely, they said. All of the residents were safe, and the cause of fire under investigation.
