Automatic Transmission Flush

Car owners assume they need a new transmission when they notice symptoms of it failing, however a transmission flush may be the answer.

Automatic Transmission Flush | British 4x4

Recently I was driving back home as per usual when I noticed that each time I would apply the brakes, I heard a sloshing noise coming out from under the hood of my car. I had just filled up the car with gas about an hour prior and had never noticed that noise.

I looked and realized I needed to have a transmission flush because my transmission had become contaminated.

If I would not have looked at this earlier, it could have done much damage to my car. Here are a few signs on how to know if you need to have an automatic transmission flush or if you are just experiencing a different issue.

Strange Noises

As previously noted, this was a warning sign that helped me realize what I needed to do before the situation got worse. If you hear strange noises you need to make sure to check the transmission fluid levels while the car is still on.

It is important to make sure that the fluid is bright red and not a dark color (brown, black, etc.) and that it is not sludge or grime. If it is okay, it just needs to be flushed out.

Problems with the Gears

If there is an issue and the transmission fluid is to blame, it is important to be aware and get it fixed prior to driving. If not, the issue could give way to the gears changing too fast or too slow, leaving a gap to get in an accident.

While you are checking the transmission fluid, make sure that it is full so that it is able to run properly.

Vehicle Movement

If there is a delay in the movement of your car it could be a result in the transmission fluid. If there is a jump in your car when going from stop to go that might be another sign your vehicle needs to have it’s transmission flushed.

There are many reasons it could be acting up, but if these few symptoms are the reason, it is important to look at it and notice these and have the vehicle looked at sooner than later. The issue can get worse if it is not checked up on.
