BAGELS & BREW HOSTS FUNDRAISER TO SUPPORT JESSIE REES FOUNDATION’S FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER

(MISSION VIEJO, Calif.) Sept. 24, 2013– Orange County-based, family-owned café Bagels & Brew will host a fundraiser to benefit the Jessie Rees Foundation and its cause in fighting childhood cancer this Friday, September 27.  Bagels & Brew will be donating $5.00 from each purchase of a dozen bagels from all three locations in Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo and Lake Forest as part of the restaurant’s ongoing support of the non-profit’s annual NEGU Golf Classic being held at Coto De Caza Golf Club September 30.

“We have been supporting the NEGU Golf Classic since it started three years ago and wanted to do something extra to show our appreciation for the organization’s cause and continued partnership with Bagels & Brew,” said Michelle McKay, Co-proprietor of Bagels & Brew. “We greatly appreciate all local support to raise money for the Jessie Rees Foundation and invite everyone in the community to purchase a dozen bagels to help fight childhood cancer.”  

Erik Rees, CEO and Chairman of the Jessie Rees Foundation said, "For many years Jessie and I would enjoy breakfast together at Bagels & Brew. It was our spot until she got cancer. It's still our family's favorite place and we are so honored that Bagels & Brew will be helping us raise money to fight childhood cancer. Every day, 50 more children are told they have cancer. Each one has a name, a story and need our support to ‘Never Ever Give Up.’"

ABOUT THE JESSIE REES FOUNDATION

The Jessie Rees Foundation was inspired by 12 year old Jessie Rees during her 10 month fight with two brain tumors. During Jessie's courageous fight she choose to help other kids fighting cancer by sending them her fun filled JoyJars and encouraging them to Never Ever Give Up!
