Beach Books Of Summer: Mission Viejo Bestselling Authors Booksigning
Mission Viejo hosts two best-selling authors at area book signing July 19.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — What does it take to make a beach book? A little sunshine, some salty sea air, sand between your toes and those water-warped paperback pages inside your beach bag.
It also takes authors with the skill to weave pages that send your mind drifting along with the ocean currents. Authors like Laura Dave and Michelle Gable, who will be on hand to sign books and discuss their latest novels of summer "Hello, Sunshine" and "The Book of Summer."
Laura Dave and Michelle Gable will meet their fans at the Norman P. Murray Community Center located at 24932 Veterans Way on Wednesday, July 19 starting at 6:15 p.m.

"This delightful free event includes free light refreshments and a no-host wine bar beginning at 6:15 p.m. Then at 7 p.m. the authors will discuss their books, followed by audience Q & A and book signing," City of Mission Viejo Spokesperson Kelly Tokarski said.

In Dave's summer 2017 release, “Hello, Sunshine,” Sunshine Mackenzie is a lifestyle guru for the modern age, beloved by millions who tune into her YouTube cooking show, and scour her website for recipes and wisdom on how to live a perfect life. However, things take a turn when a few clouds find their way into Sunshine's life.

In what could be Dave's most important novel to date, she addresses the challenging questions of what it means to live life online versus in the real world, and begs the question which persona means more to you?
Dave's novels never disappoint, as Sunshine is forced to face the crumbs of her past before reinventing her recipe for the future.
From "The Divorce Party," "London Is The Best City in America," and "Eight Hundred Grapes," her characters are multi-layered, flawed and dimensional while her settings and description are chick-lit-esque yet transcend to a more thoughtful, grown up audience.

These two outstanding books are featured in the Mission Viejo Library’s Adult SummerREAD program.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore, this author discussion will make a fun outing with friends, neighbors and book clubs alike.
