Bomb Threat Cleared At Mission Viejo School, Authorities Say

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A bomb threat made at Calvary Chapel Mission Viejo School Tuesday afternoon was cleared by authorities after an exhaustive search, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

The threat was reported to sheriff deputies at about 2:45 p.m. and prompted a large police presence at the 24800 block of Chrisanta Drive in Mission Viejo, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

“With this incident, we used our K-9s with our bomb technicians and nothing suspicious was located," OCSD Spokesperson Sgt. Todd Hylton told Patch. "This was one of the cases where things went well, we had the proper resources and we did a complete and thorough search.”

The OCSD's bomb squad, the Orange County Fire Authority and sheriff deputies worked to investigate and clear the scene.

All Calvary Chapel Mission Viejo School employees and students were evacuated from the building out of caution, the OCSD reported.
