Lion’s Hearts Make Easter “Eggs-traodinaryly” Special for Seniors

Lion's Hearts make Easter Special for Seniors!

Spring and Easter cannot be far away since members of Lion’s Heart are hopping their way into the hearts of many seniors with Meals on Wheels.

For most people, Easter means it’s time for chocolate bunnies and colored eggs. That is fine, but to celebrate the rabbit’s arrival, many Lion’s Heart members baked cookies for homebound seniors.  Senior citizens are our most forgotten citizens, but not this Easter. Not all seniors have relatives who can visit.

Lion’s Heart members embrace real life “eggs-periences” and spend quality time giving back in their community. Volunteering builds creativity, compassion and leadership. They have volunteered more than 140,000 in the community since 2004.

Lion's Heart is a community service organization in Orange County for boys and girls in grades 6-12. They are dedicated to serving the community in meaningful and fun ways. Each group elects their own officers that lead meetings and decide how to serve the community. They are required to complete at least 30 hours of community service each year.

This is not the first time they have sprinkled their love on our seniors. In the past, the organization has made cookies and cards for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Mothers Day for Age Well Senior Services and Meals on Wheels.

Throughout the year, not just at holidays Lion’s Heart members are always giving back to their community. Some of the projects the group has been involved with include blood drives, book collections, beach cleanups, Joy Jars and Relay for Life.

They do it all year long with giving hearts. There are many videos on YouTube- Lions Heart/A National and Orange County Group; www.youtube.com/user/lionsheartservice. For more information about Lion’s Heart please go to www.lionsheartservice.org.
