Lass Your Aff Off! Stand-up Comedy

It’s June and time for some laughs at the Voco Hotel that you’re sure to love!

Making his first appearance to the Voco stage is funny man Robert G. Lee. Robert is already known in the entertainment industry as Hollywood’s top warm-up comic. This veteran of 1,000 episodes of such shows as The New Adventures of Old Christine, Just Shoot Me, Becker and The Drew Carey Show is considered to be the reigning king in this very specialized profession. His job is to keep countless audiences entertained between scenes and costume and set changes with rapid-fire ad-libs and humorous interviews. No stranger in front of the camera either, Robert has written, produced and starred in six stand-up comedy specials and has been seen on the Bananas Comedy series, on Showtime’s The Joke’s On Thee, VH1’s Stand Up Spotlight, Comic Strip Live and a variety of roles on such sitcoms as Wings and Perfect Strangers.

Joining Robert is our good friend Mark Schumacher. In 2015 Mark was selected as one of the top 100 comedians in the country and performed on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He’s been featured in the Orange County Register and written comedy for the Los Angeles Times. His unique experiences teaching – abroad for elementary students and in California as a high school teacher – in addition to traveling all over the world provide endless laughs. Educators and fans of all ages relate to Mark’s cleaner, smarter style.

Also, making his first trip to the Voco stage is the very funny Morey Sherman. Standing at 6’5” tall he’s one of the Biggest Comics in the business. Morey’s comedy career started back in the 90’s while still teaching Jr. High Sex Ed. Soon he was appearing at comedy clubs all over Southern CA. You may have seen him at The Comedy Isle, Mad House Comedy, Flappers, The Comedy Store, or the North Coast Repertory Theater. Morey has opened for Headliners; Rita Coolidge, Tom Wilson (AKA Biff Tannen), Jeff Roth, Shang Forbes, and Mark Christopher Lawrence just to name a few!

Our night of comedy on June 25th will be hosted by the very talented Paula Faust. Paula has been performing standup for over 15 years and has performed at many iconic comedy clubs like The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Ice House. Paula has appeared with the Funniest Housewives of Orange County and California Funniest Females. She has appeared on numerous radio shows and podcasts and is currently involved in a reality TV pilot.
