MISSION VIEJO, CA — Orange County sheriff authorities arrested a 64-year-old man on charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a dependent adult Thursday, the department reported.

Gil Franco Carpentero, of Tustin, worked as a caretaker of intellectual and developmental disabled adults for the past ten years. He was arrested Thursday for a reported sexual assault at a facility in Mission Viejo, authorities said.

"Due to Carpentero's access to intellectual/developmental disabled adults, investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking for the public's help," an Orange County Sheriff's Department news release said.
