City Council To Talk Speed Limit Updates In Mission Viejo

Here's what Mission Viejo City council members discussed at their first meeting of the year on Tuesday.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — After a long holiday recess, the Mission Viejo City Council is back in session Tuesday. For the council's first meeting of 2023, council members will consider business items and recognize some city accomplishments.

At Tuesday's meeting, Mission Viejo City council members will consider a citywide speed limit update after receiving recommendations from the city's Planning and Transportation Commission in November. To learn more about the proposed updates, visit the City of Mission Viejo's website.

In addition, Council members will consider a lease agreement with U.S. Rep. Young Kim for office space in City Hall, as well as an update to the ordinance regarding serving on city commissions. According to the city, the update would decide whether commissioners should match the City Council voting districts or continue to serve at-large.
