City Of Mission Viejo: Drive-Through Food Collection Saturday Aug. 21

Part of an ongoing effort to help people in our community, the City of Mission Viejo is hosting its next drive-through food drive from 9 to 11 am on Saturday, August 21 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

The food drive will benefit the nonprofit Family Assistance Ministries, which helps those in need with resources for food, shelter and other support services in Orange County.

Most-needed food items include oatmeal, pasta, hearty soups, cereal, dried beans, canned chicken, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, canned pasta, canned chili, canned mixed vegetables (no green beans or corn), canned beef stew, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, protein bars and dinner helpers.

The drive-through food drive will allow folks to drive up, pop their trunks and City staff members will collect the items.
