City Of Mission Viejo: Drop & Go Food Drives Will Help Provide Holiday Meals For Families In Need

With many families in South County continuing to struggle to make ends meet, the City has partnered with two local charities to host drive-through “Drop & Go” holiday food drives for families in need.

First up on Saturday, October 23, the City will support Families Forward by collecting Thanksgiving food items from 9 to 11 am outside the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Items requested include canned gravy, cranberry sauce, yams, corn broth and green beans along with boxed stuffing, muffin mix and dessert mix. You can also donate a $20 grocery store gift card to purchase a turkey.
Then on Saturday, December 11 from 9 to 11 am, the City will partner with South County Outreach to collect the same holiday items as well as everyday food staples listed in this flier.

The drive-through food donation events take place at the OCTA bus turnaround at the Norman P. Murray Community Center. Food items are collected directly from vehicle trunks. Tax deductible receipts are available.
