City Of Mission Viejo: Embrace The Holidays With The Annual Holiday Home Lighting Contest

With 2021 coming to an end, now’s the time to share holiday spirit through the Annual Holiday Home Lighting Contest. 

Mission Viejo residents are encouraged to brighten their neighborhoods by competing in the annual lighting contest. Homes must be decorated and applications submitted to the Mission Viejo Activities Committee by 5 pm on December 3.

Homes will be judged based on categories like Most Creative; Best Theme; Best Use of Lighting; New Kids on the Block; Showstopper; and Light Up Your Neighborhood Award.     

Preliminary judging takes place December 5-6, with the final judging on December 8. Winners will receive prizes along with the winner sign for their front yard and a photo. They will be featured on the holiday driving directions, as well as the holiday homes YouTube video for the whole community to enjoy.
