Consideration of a mixed-use development in MV is months away

City Council meeting on Tuesday will NOT focus on a private property owner's proposed mixed-use project

(City of Mission Viejo)

The City Council will NOT consider a private property owner’s proposed mixed-use project on the northwest corner of Marguerite and La Paz on Tuesday, December 14 – as has been circulated via social media and in the community. The project application, which the City reported on in early October, is incomplete – meaning it is months away from being considered by the City’s Planning and Transportation Commission.

Instead, as the City reported last week, the City Council on Tuesday will host its first public hearing on district-based voting and will consider awarding a contract for the La Paz Bridge Rehabilitation and Road Widening Improvements as well as proposed improvements at the Montanoso Recreation Center. During the Council’s meeting, which starts at 6 pm, Mayor Trish Kelley’s State of the City video will also premiere touching on the City’s challenges and accomplishments of 2021. See Tuesday’s full agenda.

Residents are encouraged to attend Council meetings, which take place in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. The meetings are streamed live and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are also encouraged to sign up for the City’s eNewsletter and follow the City’s official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
