Later in the morning, Jarrett Kurimay with the Orange County Sheriff's Department put on a K-9 demonstration. Shortly thereafter, the dog contests began, with such categories as best trick, cutest dog and best outfit.
Best trick winner was Cookie Einstein, a 12-year old deaf rescued dog, and her trainer, Penny Miller. Cookie wowed the crowd by barking out the answers to math questions put forth by people in the audience. Miller says the dog can read lips and understand hand signals.
