Coroner IDs Anaheim Woman, 94, Killed In Freeway Crash
Francisca Solis, 94, of Anaheim & Trinidad Solis, 70, of the Fresno County city of Selma died in a suspected DUI crash Sunday morning.
YORBA LINDA, CA — Two people died as a result of a car crash on the eastbound 91 in Yorba Linda early Sunday, officials say. A Santa Ana driver was expected to face drunken driving charges in the deaths of the 94-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway, just west of Gypsum Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a gray 2006 Honda Civic, Jonathan Rivera, 29, veered onto the right shoulder and crashed into a stopped 2019 Volkswagen Atlas SUV with four people inside, the CHP reported.
The two fatally injured victims, identified by the Orange County coroner's office as Francisca Solis of Anaheim and Trinidad Solis of the Fresno County city of Selma, were riding in the back seat of the Volkswagen. Their relationship was not immediately known.

They died at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange about an hour after the crash, according to the coroner's office.
The other victims in the Volkswagen, 93-year-old Gregorio Solis of Anaheim and 52-year-old Gregorio Vazquez of Anaheim, were taken to OC Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of what were described as minor injuries, according to the CHP.

Rivera, who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo for treatment of significant injuries, according to the CHP.
