Council to host second Public Hearing on district-based election

City always encourages public participation.

The City Council on Tuesday, February 8 will host the second Public Hearing regarding the district-based election maps.

During the first Public Hearing, the Council discussion centered on Map E, submitted by a resident, which the Center for Demographic Research was asked to review and revise. The revised version is now available on the website. A third Public Hearing will take place during the Council’s February 22 meeting.

Along with discussion about the maps, the Council will also consider awarding a contract for the Montanoso Recreation Center Rehabilitation project, which entails replastering the pool and spa and replacing pool mechanical equipment.

The Sheriff’s Department will also give a School Resource Officer (SRO) update about school safety.

The City Council meets at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Meetings are streamed live on the City’s website and also air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City’s eNewsletter and follow the City’s official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
