Council’s meeting focused on district-based election maps

Mayor also addressed unanswered questions from developer's scoping meeting

(City of Mission Viejo)

The Center for Demographic Research gave a presentation during Tuesday’s City Council meeting regarding draft district-based election maps that were designed by members of the public.

The City has long sought the public’s help in mapping out what a district-based election would look like. Additional public hearings and presentations by the Center for Demographic Research will take place at the City Council’s February 8 and 22 meetings.

In other Council news, Mayor Wendy Bucknum and City Manager Dennis Wilberg touched on a sober living forum as well as unanswered questions stemming from the January 24 Public Scoping Meeting hosted by developer ValueRock Realty regarding its proposed Garden Plaza project. See their discussion at this link.

The City Council regularly meets at 6 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live and also air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City’s eNewsletter and follow the City’s official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
