The California Fire Museum in the OC is in the process of building a fire museum & safety learning center at the OC Great Park. We are a 501 c 3 with a board of directors. We have acquired a large collection of fire artifacts relating to the history of the fire services in the OC. We also have over 20 fire apparatus including many from here in Orange County in our collection. The safety learning center will include all aspects of safety and be interactive for children and adults of all ages.

We are working hard with the Great Park Board to acquire 5 acres of land to build our project. The GP is about to present a study of the last portion of the GP, the Cultural Terrace, at it's October 24 GP meeting at the Irvine City Hall. We are hopeful to be recognized after 13 years of work with the City and Great Park.

We have hired a museum planner to help us along with the fund raising of the 16 million we will need to build our project, who built the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA.

If you would like to help with our project please e-mail crowncoach@aol.com and we will send you our schedule of meetings we have each month at our location here in Mission Viejo. We also have work parties every so often to work on our apparatus and collection, usually on Saturdays.

Did you know that many of the early Mission Viejo fire stations started out in a mobile home and canopy.
