Do You Know Connie Simms? Woman In Critical Condition After Crash
This woman was struck while walking through an Orange County parking lot. Police are seeking anyone who might know her. Can you help?

SANTA ANA, CA — The Santa Ana police department has issued a plea for the family, or anyone who might know a woman struck by a vehicle near the Goodwill Industries building on West 5th Street over the weekend. It was midday on Sunday when Connie Gale Simms, 79, was walking through the lot. Then, suddenly, she was struck by a car.
Simms was reportedly in and out of consciousness but breathing, Santa Ana Police Dept. Cpl. Anthony Bertagna told us.
Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel briefly treated Simms at the scene before she was transported to UCI Medical Center for treatment, he said. Her condition is "critical" according to the police. Patch has reached out to UCI for an update on her condition and will update the story when that has been released.

Simms was pushing a cart, walking across the private parking lot in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle, Bertagna said.
"The motorist who was operating the vehicle was contacted at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision," he said.
