Ladies, Don't Marry This Guy: Suspect Sought In Ring Thefts

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Jewelry stores in Orange County, better check your stock and ladies, be sure that your new fiance is on the up and up.

This man, who was captured on security camera at multiple jewelry shops, was suspected of pocketing rings after asking clerks for a closer look, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said. According to an OCSD spokesperson, this man is suspected of stealing rings from stores in both Mission Viejo and Lake Forest.

"In both incidents, the suspect asked to see the rings, and once in his possession, took the rings and ran from the store," Orange County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said.

No force or violence was used, and no vehicle was seen associated to the suspect, according to Braun.

"We believe he may have also committed similar crimes in other Orange County cities," she said.
