Known as Bill, this Lhasa-Apso mix was found wandering around a local apartment complex.

"His fur was so severely matted that you could not see or feel his skin," the Mission Viejo Animal Rescue reported. "Bill was so neglected that he looked like a dirty fur ball. He also had ear, skin and bladder infections."

As soon as he arrived at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, Bill started receiving medical care and was completely shaved, as shown in his “after” picture.

His treatment was paid for by Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG).

“He immediately felt better and would rub his freshly shorn body all over the grass,” said Animal Services Supervisor Brynn Lavison.

Now ready for adoption, Bill would love a quiet home where he can finally be loved and spoiled. Because he was neglected so profoundly, he is wary of new things and would not do well with children. He seems to enjoy the company of other calm dogs, though, and will make an excellent companion once he finds a stable home.

“Although Bill’s story is sad, he deserves a happy ending,” Lavison said.
