The American Red Cross is hosting several blood drives, and offering incentives to Mission Viejo residents who donate blood. What to know.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — While the season changes from summer to fall, the American Red Cross' need for donated blood remains the same — especially amid a current nationwide blood shortage.

The American Red Cross is hosting a slew of blood drives across Orange County and offering an abundance of incentives for scheduling an appointment.

All donors who donate blood through Sept. 30 will automatically be entered to win a free VIP NASCAR racing experience. In addition, residents who donate before Sept. 30 will receive a free haircut coupon courtesy of Sports Clips.

Residents who donate blood between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31 will automatically receive a free $5 gift card to a vendor of their choice.

  • Sept. 26, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Saddleback Valley Unified School District, 25631 Peter A Hartman Way.
  • Oct. 6, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Elk's Lodge, 25092 Marguerite Pkwy.
  • Oct. 13, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 27976 Marguerite Pkwy.
