Downtown Disney Exec Shares Changes In District

ANAHEIM, CA — With so many new and exciting things to do and coming soon to Downtown Disney, it's hard to know where to start. Jason Alexander, Sr. Manager of of Business Relations at Downtown Disney District tells everyone about those changes in this week's Every Role a Starring Role.

"We haven't seen this amount of change in the (Downtown Disney) district since it opened," he said.

The many storefronts have changed slightly, with the highly anticipated Splittsville and addition of the Disney Dress Shop last fall--think Dapper Days apparel for ladies. But for Alexander, it's every store in the district that makes Downtown Disney shine.

"I look at operations from a guest point of view," he said. "My typical day varies. There are days I spend in meetings talking about the message of Downtown Disney."

But his favorite part of the day is strolling the venue, talking with families and cast members, he said.

"One of the most recent additions is the hyper reality of the Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire The Void," he said. "In that space, you are putting on a vest, a helmet, and it's transformed into the Star Wars Universe."

Splittsville lanes has added an air of excitement and fun, with both an enormous space in that Disney-esque feeling, as well as the added bowling alley smashing fun. Coming soon, Downtown Disney will add Ballast Point Brewing Company, Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer along with excellent shakes and food, that will add to the family friendly dining choices in the district.

The pride in Alexander is evident as he strolls the district, chats up cast members and even pauses to take a photo for a family, adding to their magical experience. At Disneyland Resort, every role is a starring role.
