Eagle Scout Projects Make Mission Viejo A Better Place

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Numerous Boy Scouts who live in the City of Mission Viejo are attempting to reach the prestigious rank of Eagle by embarking on projects to make their city a better place.

By year’s end, nearly 50 projects will have been completed that not only help the scouts reach the highest ranking attainable in the boy scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America but also benefit our environment and beautify the area.

Kudos to the latest scouts to step up to the plate and complete projects in our City:

• Daniel Endraws of Boy Scout Troop #659 and his merry band of volunteers planted 850 plants along the slope on Trabuco Road between Los Alisos and Via Madrigal.
• John Damyen’s project, he rallied about 20 volunteers to plant eight trees and 640 plants on the slope area on Via Burgos Street between Trabuco Road and Marguerite Parkway.
• Dallin Hammond of Troop #793 and his 26 volunteers planted 12 trees and 650 drought-tolerant plants on the slope area along Muirlands Boulevard.
• Armed with about 12 volunteers, Grant Goldsworth of Venture Crew #623 planted 750 plants at Cordova Park.
• With about 20 volunteers in tow, Jackson McNamee of Troop #772 enhanced Cordova Park with several hundred drought-tolerant plants.
