The City of Mission Viejo will mark Earth/Arbor Day 2016 on Saturday, April 23 by planting and cleaning up the landscape on Mustang Run at Los Alisos Blvd. The City of Mission Viejo will mark Earth/Arbor Day 2016 on Saturday, April 23 by planting and cleaning up the landscape on Mustang Run at Los Alisos Blvd.
Volunteers are needed from 8 am to Noon to plant trees and shrubs, plus clean-up litter. Anyone of any age can participate. Volunteers need to bring hats, gloves, boots and shovels. You need to register for this free event.
In addition, there will be a Green Expo, free hotdogs and ice cream will be served while supplies last. It will feature environmental exhibits, earthly crafts, recycling and conservation tips.

Going Green doesn’t mean you have to be a tree hugger or a Green Snob, but with summer approaching it means higher energy use and costs. We need to conserve electricity and water during hot days to maintain service reliability and minimize emergency outages. Small changes can make a huge difference in our efforts to protect our environment, our city and our planet.
