Elderly Couple Rescued From Intense House Fire In South OC
The destructive garage fire was burning in Laguna Hills Tuesday evening, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA — Firefighters rescued an elderly couple from an intense fire Tuesday in Laguna Hills.
Orange County firefighters received a call regarding a fire at a home in the 25000 block of Mawson Drive shortly before 9 p.m., the OC Fire Authority reported.
Upon arriving, firefighters found a fire in the garage that was threatening the home, authorities said. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading into the house, which had been consumed with smoke, reports said.

Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies arrived at the scene and assisted firefighters in getting the couple safely out of the home. Paramedics were called and took the couple to a hospital for treatment, the fire authority said.
No firefighters were injured, according to the fire authority.

The family dog was found outside the home uninjured.
Fire investigators are at the scene and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
