English wheelchair tennis pro gearing up for exciting showdown in Mission Viejo Nov. 3-7

Wheelchair Doubles Masters begins Tuesday

Louise Hunt has never let anything slow her down. She’s played tennis since was 5 years old, even though she’s never walked. Last year, she reached the finals of the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters in Mission Viejo.

Today, this 24-year-old wheelchair tennis pro from Wanborough, England is training 5 days week in preparation for this year’s competition November 3-7 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion, 27474 Casta Del Sol.

“I love this event,” she said. “Last year, we reached the finals, which was the proudest moment in my tennis career yet, so it’s exciting to be back.”

“I have always been in a wheelchair so I’ve never known any different,” she said. “However, this sport has taught me that no challenge is too tough if you commit to something you want and are motivated … it doesn’t matter what physical disability you have. You can do it!”

The public is invited to witness inspirational athletes like Louise in action. The matches are all free, and this year, special VIP service is available during the competition.
