Explore Your Roots At Mission Viejo Library

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Have you ever wanted to learn more about your relatives? When did they come to America? What side did they stand on during the civil war? And, if you are a longtime resident, how did they come to arrive in Orange County?

The Mission Viejo librry's Geneology section and librarians can help.

The Genealogy Collection is located in the South Wing of the library and includes: in-house access to an online genealogical database, books, periodicals, family histories, and more, according to the Library website.

Volunteers from the South Orange County California Genealogy Society (SOCCGS) can help you conduct familial research at no cost, according to the MV library.

Explore birth, death and marriage announcements that were published in the Saddleback Valley News from 1969 – 1989, now indexed by the South Orange County California Genealogical Society.

Inside the library, visit the Technology Center or Genealogy areas, librarians explained.

The Ancestry Library Edition database provides visitors to the library with online information on over two billion names, they said.
