Fatal Crash Kills 1 Near South OC Shopping Mall
The crash was reported at the intersection of Alicia and Jeronimo in Mission Viejo, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — At least one person died Friday as the result of a fatal traffic crash in south Orange County, authorities said.
The crash was reported on Friday, Jan. 5 just before 11 p.m. in the area of Alicia Parkway and Jeronimo Road in Mission Viejo, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.
The fatal crash initially prompted authorities to shut down the busy intersection while an investigation was conducted. At least one person was reported dead, and it was unknown if there were any injuries, authorities said.

The name of the deceased person was not released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation as of Monday.
