FBI Offers Reward for Hipster Bandit--Wanted in Mission Viejo Bank Robbery
A $20000 reward is being offered for the Hipster Bandit grocery store bank robber. He has hit over 10 banks from SD, Rivco to OC.


Mission Viejo, CA-- Authorities today announced a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the capture of a crook dubbed the "Hipster Bandit.''
His nickname, due to the youthful bearing and attire he's displayed during a yearlong series of bank robberies in San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties. Most recently, on July 2, 2016, the Hipster Bandit struck at the Wells Fargo Bank at 26022 Marguerite Pkwy, Mission Viejo, California.
The unidentified thief -- a diminutive man who appears to be in his mid-20s to early 30s -- began his spree of heists in La Mesa last July, according to the FBI.

In some instances, the thief has been seen strolling around grocery stores prior to committing robberies. In one case, he fled in a blue SUV, and on another occasion he made his getaway aboard a late-model black motorcycle, possibly a Harley-Davidson or Triumph.

Anyone who might be able to help identify the robber was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
